The
very first day, I was talked into lighting a fire cracker and putting it in the
bin at assembly.
Someone took the lid off and the area was filled with smoke.
It was the first day of the school year
1972. The Principal asked who did
it. The boy next to me threatened to dob me in. I owned up...What a start! Who
was that kid? !!!
Poor
Dad.
He got the goss on everything I did...
The
sporting aspect was great.
We had it all available, badminton, swimming, basketball,
boxing, and I was never much good at any!
My big brother Lance was captain
of the basketball team, best swimmer for the butterbombs and was top of the calender
one night to box one of the Bomble brothers I think...
It's all so long ago.
But the memories are precious .
If anyone remembers me, look me up.
On returning from Butterworth, I ended up at Cheltenham High in Melbourne.
I finished an apprenticeship in cooking and travelled to far north QLD.
I
returned to Melbourne in 1983.
In 1993 I opened a seafood retail outlet -
Parkdale Seafoods. I ran that for 9 years.
Selling that, this year, I now
work as a sales rep for a large seafood wholesaler in Melbourne.
