How well I remember the three years I had at Butterworth.
There are times when I am glad the time came to an end so I could get back to
a normal life. My time there was amazingly full. Not only were you involved with
a very committed and friendly staff, but you had the opportunity to travel and
experience this other culture along the way.
Since Butterworth I returned to Victoria, taking a postion at a small country school Strathmerton, for 5 years then onto Cobram for another 6 years. Then after a long service trip north I fell in love with the territory life style and worked at Katherine School of the Air for a few years and am now a Maths consultant working out of Darwin.
I guess I never got over the travel bug of
moving to and working in new areas. Also the territory certainly gives me the
climate we had back in Malaysia.
