Great site evoking many fond memories including my very first recollection of Penang, the unique smell as we sailed into the harbour in 1964 (as was the trip there in those days). Not surprisingly, on arrival in 1971 that unique smell was still in evidence.
I thoroughly enjoyed the years I spent at the school and in Penang. Highlights include the many friendships, lifestyle and sports.
After completing year 12 in 1974, I joined the RAAF and and ended up with a posting to Malaysia (as a techo at 3Sqn) from 1979 to 1982 and returned yet again for two weeks in 1986 when we deployed two of our new F/A 18's for a "show off" tour. Left the RAAF in 1998 after 26 years and trained as an Enrolled nurse before attending Uni and completing a Nursing degree to become a Registered nurse (just for something completely different).
Now living in Newcastle and working at the John Hunter Hospital in the theatres as a recovery/anaesthetic nurse.
Cheers
