Hi to all ex-students of R.S.P.

Our family arrived in Penang in december 1963 and my sister and I started school at the begining of 1964. I completed form 2 and 3 and was in correspondance untill we returned to melbourne about september 1964.

Browsing through this site has brought back lots of memories - it seems like only yesterday - girl guides at the hostel, friday night movies at the hostel. swimming at the penang swimming club, visiting Penang hill and the monkey gardens.

I fondly remember my days at the R.S.P. Playing hockey on the oval, school assemblies, cooking with Miss Barber, science with Mr Smeaton, and how we looked forward to the school dances.

Being in correspondance class was a unique experience. Sometimes we waited for our work to arrive - only to have it come back late and then we would ahve to work like crazy to complete our sets so that they could be sent home on fridaymornings - ah - i remember it well.

I also remember the great excitement at the school when the first R.S.P girls were to be presented at the debutant ball, and how dissapointed i was that i was too young to be a debutant myself.

After we returned to melbourne i went on to do nursing and worked for several years at the Royal Womens Hospital before two children. Today i am retired and my youngest daughter is 18 and about to sit her VCE with the hope of attending university next year, and my oldest daughter is 21 and attending RMIT university. we live in clarinda, victoria.

I am looking forward to the reunion at laverton next year and hope to see you all there!
