My family arrived in 1969.
We all were a little nervous on our arrival, not knowing what to make of this new place. It was hot, smelly & very strange.
The local people were very friendly. It was such a long way from our home and we were here to stay for a couple of years, we all did finally settle down to this new lifestyle, we just had to make the most of it. Now I have many fond memories of those days that my family had spent living in Penang. Penang was certainly a beautiful place to see.
Our family came back to our home town in the year 1971. I have been happily married for nearly 24 yrs. We have two sons aged 20yrs & 23yrs.Would love to return to Penang some day.
