On our 2nd visit (1975-1976) I was one of the unlucky ones that ended up in boarding
school! So I came up to Penang in the school holidays. As a baby the first time
3-5 years I have so many memories, the Penang Swimming Club and learning to swim,
Alim and Aloy our amahs (like 2nd mothers), the beach and my brother Frank hiding
up a tree smoking when the branch broke right infront of dad. Frank is 5 years
older than me.
We left by ship with the McCleary family for Fremantle.
Returning at 15 was even more fun, no big brother to torment me. Watching movies at the Swimming Club, shopping and more shopping, parties and cheap taxi rides.
