I can remember lots of lazy, happy days - hot chips at the pool, the Joeys dances, Indian weddings and playing tennis. I felt like part of a huge family.

In form 1 (year 7) we made these sleeveless tops which were not quite even - one armhole was a lot larger than the other. I lived in Jalan Azyze, the same street as the school which saved a lot of hassles with buses. I also remember the horrid dentist which was on the school site as well as the fabulous spring rolls our amah made for the whole street.

Whilst there my family took us on a trip to Hong Kong - we sailed into the harbour to be greeted by the QE1 lying on its side completely burnt out. I've been back to Hong Kong since, but it isn't the same.

After living on Penang, I always felt like Asia was my other home and enjoy the feeling of the heat and the smells when I visit the Asian countries!! We returned to Penang two years ago and hired a car to view the old sites. It has certainly changed and is becoming a modern city in most parts. At least you can cross the streets with safety - not like Bangkok.

It's great to log on to this site and reminisce. Thank you and hope to see some of you at the Newcastle reunion proposed for 2003.
