We arrived in Malaya as it was then in 1960 aboard the Sydney.
Their were 3 of us kids - Tony, myself and sister Susan.
We lived at 3 Jalan Pelangi, Seaview Park. We attended both schools and in the very early school days on our arrival - only attended school for 1/2 days!

We all have wonderful memories of those days and would love to catch up with any of our school friends from those days.

I have been totally absorbed with the website since finding it anmd have been on a memory trail since then. I do have a few photos from those days and will try to share them asap with you all.

I have been back to Penang a few times since 1962 as my father Phil Humphrey was posted back there 1979 - 81.
I visited them on a couple of occasions and traced one of my malay friends with I am still in contact with today.

I also have sadness attached to Penang, my parents went back for a visit again in 1985 and my Mum, 57, unfortunately died there.
So I also feel my Mum's spirit is still there - so it is a special place for me in many ways.
I have had a varied life and have lived in so many places - I often wonder if being an RAAF kid - also makes you a bit of a gypsy.

I always admired my Mum, for wherever we were posted to, she always made it Home.
Both my parents have passed away sadly, taking a lot of stuff I would like to know now.
I would have loved to attend the Reunion in Penang but work committments prevented me this time - but I hope to make the next one.!
I have found a couple of people from my era on the memory trail, Yvonne Gluyas, David Eyres and Alson and Marc Holt.

For your info Mark - we were the kids along with my Dad that went up to the hill and if you can remember - you and I had a race to get down that hill first and I fell!
I still bear the scars today!

I will keep searching and hopefully will find a few more of you to email.

A brief story for you, in the early 1990's I stayed at a B & B - you won't believe who owned it - Mr. Hunt! I knew I knew him from somewhere - and when I asked him, he replied maybe from Neighbours! Well, I knew it couldn't be from that - as I had never watched it, but upon an invitation from him to enjoy his library - photo albums on the bureau confirmed where I knew him from. I was so excited and I did get to speak to him again, he said (at that time) I was the only student from those days in Penang he had met! So, as you can imagine that was a real buzz for me, as would be, hearing from any school mates.

Wish you all the very best and a sincere Thank you for making this website possible.WELL DONE!
