Hi,

A wonderful few years spent in Malaysia and at RAAF School Penang from 1966 to 68.

For me it was really a great adventure/holiday arriving on the long flight from Perth with parents and my brother Mike. We lived in Jalan Azyze, can't recall the number.

Hot weather, exotic food, new friends, and many things to do and see.

Some memorable times:

Movies and dances at the Hostel, scouts, camping and the trip to Bankok, Penang Hill, climbing Scout Rock, catching tropical fish in the creek, night walks with the chinese lanterns, fighting the bully across the road, playing badminton, boxing, getting the cane for playing british bulldog in the wet at school. Riding the icecream cart. new bikes for xmas. my pet duck PeeWee, fishing for garfish. exploring the pillboxes.

After leaving Penang we moved to Sale in Victoria and then on to Melbourne where I finished school.

Played a lot of basketball until a knee injury put an end to that. Went overseas in 1978 for a couple of years and met my wife to be Avryl. We have three daughters Andrea 21, Chelsea 18 and Rachael 17. As a family we have travelled quite a bit. In 1996 we had a trip to Penang to have a look at the old place. My kids loved it.

I've mainly worked in the financial services industry: Banking and Insurance. Spent some time at the ANZ before joing Custom Credit Finance and then the NAB. Got an MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management in 1999. After 20 years at NAB Group, left a senior role to do some management consulting in Aus, UK and Asia. Too much travel and time offshore for me! I now work at AAMI in Melbourne.

Have lived in Gisborne Vic for 6 years, a small country town on the outskirts of Melb.

Have to confess I've been a one eyed St Kilda fan since 1969. Also been into motorcyles for quite a while. Ride a Honda VFR800 sports-tourer. I enjoy the Moto GP & Superbike racing. Had the thrill of doing a course at Phillip Island recently with the Australian Superbike School.

Terrific work on this web-site Cynthia.

Cheers
