Sila membaca kawan-kawan saya!

My fondest memories of that time were playing soccer for either the "Blockheads" or "Socceroos" and almost "always" beating the "Islander" teams such as the "Hotspurs" etc. There is also the great memory of the Dolphin Swimming Club and who could forget the end of season disco (Disco Duck?) with the unrelenting Boney M, Village People and Sat Nite Fever grooves! Other memories include the Cub and Scout activities especially the camping trip to Pulau Badan when "Hueys" transported us all. Who also could ever forget the journey to school form the mainland and the rush to get one of the "fast ferries" such Pulau Pinang…well maybe not!….and egging our bus driver Ooi Teik Chooi (yes as signed in my autograph book) to "jalan cepat-cepat"! Can also remember swimming and mud fighting (and conveniently forgetting to do my math's homework!) everyday after school and, without fail stepping onto a bloody little catfish, Ouch! Also going to the flicks at the ASTRA (I think?) with a bottle of coke, mars bar and date in stride (…well maybe once!).

Since completing high school I have been working in the structural/mechanical engineering fields as either a draftsperson and or project manager in drafting and manufacturing. I have also managed time for a BA in Asian Studies and have spent several periods of time in Indonesia and Thailand studying, working and holidaying of course! I have yet to travel back to Malaysia but it will for sure be the next trip o/s! I am currently back in Brisbane to seek out new employment opportunities, do some post-graduate management studies, buy a house and prepare for the next sojourn to Southeast Asia!

My older brother Daryl (1977- 4H & 1978-5B) currently resides in the Alice and works as a Registered Nurse. Prior to that he had is own Painting and Decorating business which began in Mt Isa and spread to Mackay, Darwin and Katherine. My younger sister Ann-Maree (1978-1C) now married works in the most underrated and most demanding industries ever created by this two car, two tv, too busy keeping up with the Jones and two of everything materialistic world…Child Care.

I have by pure fate had the chance to actually meet up with one friend from grade 4, named Andrew Bowd. We had actually been working with each other for about 2 months when we started talking about living o/s and we both mentioned Malaysia. As it turned out we attended the school at the same time and in the same grades. Incredible experience to cross paths again 20 or so years on!!!

I have attached a RAAF SCHOOL PENANG photo, and a most recent one for anyone who may have the slightest memory of yours truly, my older brother Daryl and younger sister Ann-Maree.

(1) That is me with the dirky expression at the far RHS of the pic. These are all familiar faces from a grade 4 - photography class however, I can only remember one persons name. That of Michael Page in the middle with the pointed finger. (aka Pagie- if my memory serves correct all the Page brothers were nicknamed Pagie?). The photo was taken by Andrew Bowd.
