Have only just found out about this site and wish I'd
known about it years ago! Because most of us moved around so much it was really
hard to maintain friendships. I know that the memories I have of my time in Malaysia
are definately amongst the most special I have!!
I have great memories
of spending hours at the basketball courts, in the swimming pool (and the juke
box in the swimming hall), of catching trishaws to the ferry for a trip to Penang,
of walking the srteets of the base at night catching up with friends, of the dances
at school and being caught by Mr Crittendon "pashing"on with the love
of my 15yr life. I wish my own kids could feel as safe as we did back then, though
don't know if I would like the idea of my daughter "pashing"on Ha! Ha!
After
leaving Butterworth I had 2 yrs in Canberra followed by 2 yrs working at the Australian
Embassy in Wash DC. I then moved to Perth where I did my Nursing and married a
truckdriver (who loves his truck as much as my dad loved his plane!)We spent 12
yrs in Perth and then moved to the Gold Coast where we have lived for 9 yrs. We
have 4 children, 2 boys & 2 girls. The oldest girl is 13 and the other 3 are
11(yes we had triplets!)
I have special memories of many people,some
I have kept in touch with and some I haven't. I would love to get back in touch
with anyone that can remember me and would love it if we could all catch up at
the Brisbane reunion next year!
