(now Barnes) lived at 19 Jalan Bungah Chempa Putah Hillside from Feb 1961- Aug
1963, with brothers Ray, Dave and Graham and sisters Lesley and Wendy.
"My 5 brothers and sisters and I attended RAAF school, first in Residency
Rd then Hillside.
Some of my memories are of pictures at the Hostel,
the wonderful parties our group always seemed to be having, the pool party we
had at Mt Pleasure and the Rambutan & Mangosteen tree in our yard when we moved
to a house in Rose Avenue. The Penang & Chinese Swimming Clubs, which were a big
part of my brothers & my life.
Some friends I remember after 40 years
are Peter Edgar, Michael Nott, Carla Paff, Kathy Hermes and Chris Fairey, who
was in Penang with her family from England."
Jan now lives at Buderim
in Queensland and has three grown up children. She is interested to find out any
information about swimming coach Arthur Young.
