Even though it is over forty years since I lived in Malaysia, I still carry such wonderful memories of the sights, sounds, smells, people and everything else that made it so different from what I knew beforehand. Like all of us I had some really terrific friends at school but of course being a RAAF kid we moved and those friendships were broken. However, they are still there permanently etched in my memory.
I lived in Queensland for 32 years enjoying the tropical heat of Cairns and Townsville!
I am a retired school Principal and now live in Terranora, near Tweed Heads. I am married with three children and have enjoyed a fulfilling life that was very much shaped by my Penang experiences.
My wife and I visited Penang last year and looked up the old haunts. it was terrific going back and re-connecting with those sights, tastes,sounds etc.
I'm returning again in Feb 2011 to show my youngest son where I used to live - should be a hoot!
