I lived on Penang and remember going to the Penang swimming club after school and on the weekends.I really enjoyed going to the hostel on Fri nights.
I remember learning very little in the attaps, and that when I left and went to boarding school I had a lot of ground to make up.
I went on to do medicine and later specialised in psychiatry.
Living in Penang had an incredible impact on me and the opportunity to live in another country for 2 years like that and do a lot of travelling was fantastic. I have been back a few times to visit.I worked in Thailand for a year in a hospital on the border of Thailand and Burma and loved making a few trips down during my breaks.
I live in Melb now with my husband and our 2 girls.
